"Watch, therefore; you do not know when the lord of the house is coming, whether in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or in the morning. " ( Mk 13:35)
Every couple of years someone announces the discovery of a coded message in the Scriptures that tells when the end of the world is going to happen.
Usually, it's going to happen very soon....and sometimes there's even a specific date. I can be sure of one thing: There is absolutely no truth in any of these claims, no matter how sincere those who make them may be. How can I be so sure of that?
First of all, Scriptures is not filled with "secrets" that are in some sort of code. Second, Jesus was clear about his question of "when" the end of the world will happen. In the first part of chapter 13 of Mark's Gospel (the verses that immediately precede this week's reflection), Jesus talks about the destruction of Jerusalem (which took place in 70 A.D.) and also about the end of history. Peter, James, John and Andrew were with him, and they ask him when this will happen. Jesus responds: "Of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father."
Jesus says that he himself, as a human being, doesn't know. It's clear as clear can be: No one on earth knows when the world will end.
According to scientific calculations, the earth will be habitable for a billion more years. It could well be that we are only in the early stages of God's plan.
Now, that gives me a different perspective. source: www.littlebooks.org
My reflection: It is very clear in the bible that even Jesus don't know when the world ends. And why there are so many church leaders who taught their members that the world will end. Some even make a cult and be together in one place to wait for that time. That is why I am very thankful and grateful that I know the bible and read it often. Because only the Bible will lead you and guide you the right way. People from all walks of life wrote something and published their books with their idea about anything and if we don't have the basic foundation like knowing what is written in the Bible we are easily get lost and believe differently. It was not only in the past decade that I started to read the bible. And I am thankful that I did. God is good all the time!

It's very rewarding!
Last week, I was teaching my 3rd graders about the third person of the Holy Trinity which is the Holy Spirit. We have a lesson plan to follow and of course I also have to read and study and PRAY of my lesson that day. I gathered all the kids to a room across the church and we are in the middle of discussion when our parish priest Fr. G came and visit us. I told father G. that we are talking about Holy Spirit. And so Fr. G asked the kids about who is the third person of the Holy Trinity...and all of them answered Holy Spirit! Then Fr. G continued to asked them how many persons in one God. And they answered THREE! Father G. , asked them what are they...one says Father, the other kid says Jesus, then the other one says Holy Spirit. Father says Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I was so happy that my kids answered the questions well. It's the most rewarding feeling that I couldn't explained. It feels that in heaven I got a bullseye! Tomorrow, I am going to talk about All Saints and All Souls Day! This would be fun!
